Craft Studio Mini-Reveal

Happy cold Sunday!  Brrrr!  I have to apologize because I do not have a card to share this morning.  With having run two half marathons in the last two weeks there wasn't a ton of time to spend crafting.  Don't be sad though, I did have some kind of action in the craft studio over the last couple of weeks.

I am lucky to have a dedicated room in our house for my little "obsession".  I feel very grateful for this.  I also like to work in a "pretty" space and one that is organized.  I have learned that if everything has a home (and I am good about putting everything back in it's home after I use it) crafting is so much more fun!  Plus you can get so much more done when you don't have to ask yourself, "where is my....".

So over the last two weeks I worked on making my craft studio more organized AND pretty!  I took a trip to IKEA (one of my FAVORITE places in the whole wide world!) and picked up a couple of Expedit pieces.  I wanted to accomplish two things, storage and a cutting station for my Big Shot die cutting machine.  This is the configuration I felt would work best:

Here is a shot of the Big Shot station:
The black cubes in the bottom of my Expedit pieces were from IKEA as well and they fit perfectly!  I had sever other Thirty One Gifts items that fit in perfectly too.  Pink is my favorite color so I threw in pops of hot pink that I already had in and around my office:
You can't have a craft studio without projects on display:
I look forward to revealing the rest of the studio as I continue to get it all into place.  Let me know what you think!

All Dressed Up for a Special Birthday!

This past Monday, we celebrated a special birthday.  We were lucky enough to spend the weekend, while in Jacksonville, Florida for the "Breast Cancer Marathon (26.2 with Donna)", with my Aunt Becky.  We run this race for her, being a two time breast cancer survivor, in the hopes that they will once and for all find a cure for breast cancer.  If you didn't know about this race, 100% of the race proceeds and raised funds go to breast cancer research and care.  Check them out here.

I wasn't so sure about the All Dressed Up stamp set or the Dress Up framelits until I saw some amazing projects at Stampin/ Up! Leadership Conference in January.  I was sold...100%...on the cuteness!

I can't take credit for the cuteness of this cards design, but I can share who I "borrowed" the cuteness from.  I CASED (Copy And Share Everything) this card from a PIN on Pinterest which led me to this site.  Thanks Sami!
Stamp Set:  Happiest Birthday Wishes, Charming
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Midnight Muse, Print Poetry DSP (Spring Catalog)

Shhhh...Don't Tell. Stamp-a-Stack Sneak Peek!

If you are like me, you want to have a card ready for ever occasion.  And if you are REALLY like me, you are always behind the 8-ball and creating a card at the last minute, before you run out of the house to a baby shower, or the night before a holiday (shhh, don't tell my husband that I don't have his Valentine Card made yet!).

I know that many of us are like that and because of this, it may hinder us in believing that we could be hand-made card givers.  Who wants to stress before running out to a birthday party, right?  So in comes the "Stamp-a-Stack", can you hear the crowd cheering?  Well, maybe the crowd needs to know what the heck a "Stamp-a-Stack" is before they can cheer, duh.

A "Stamp-a-Stack" is a FUN time with the girls (guys welcome!) when you come to my house and everything is ready for you to STAMP a STACK of hand-made cards, made by YOU!  So you go home with a collection of cards, ready to give at the perfect moment, no stress, including envelopes

What's that?  I think I hear the crowd cheering now!

Here is a sneak peek of two of the cards we will be making at my upcoming, and very first, Stamp-a-Stack.  Let me know if you would like some more information about how you can participate!

First is a Valentine.  I LOVE the new "Hearts a Flutter" stamp set that is in the Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog and I am a sucker for banners.

Another card we will be making is this beautiful yet simple Thinking of You card using the versatile "Thoughts & Prayers" stamp set.  When someone loses a loved one or has a tragedy in their lives, I hope I can let them know that I care as soon as possible.  Getting a hand-made card could be the highlight of that persons day.

Here's what it took to make these special cards:

Simple Handmade Card with "Oh, Hello"

I am still learning this Blogger thing and haven't quite perfected the "scheduled publish" part.  I had this ready to go while I was out of town for the weekend and was saddened to realize that I have not mastered this technique!  I hope that since this is only my third post as a blogger that you will forgive me :)

_______________________________________________________

As a gift for my birthday last week, my wonderful husband sent me on a little crafty trip to the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Orlando. Being fairly new to Stampin' Up! I didn't know what to expect, I just hoped that I came home with new ideas. Boy did I ever!

My head has been spinning with projects galore and I look forward to taking those ideas from my head, the projects that I photographed and the 50 card swap samples that I came home with, and creating fun new cards to share with you!

One perk of going to a Stampin' Up! event is that they are very generous with gifts! Our first gift, given when we picked up our registration packet, was a stamp set out of the new Spring Catalog called "Oh, Hello". I wanted some simple, clean Thank You cards and this is what I came up with:

Here is what you need to recreate this simple card:

Stamp Set:  Oh, Hello (Wood Mount 130730, Clear Mount 130733)

Because of this love for paper crafting, I recently became reintroduced to Stampin’ Up!  If you haven’t heard of them or used their products before, it is truly high quality.  My very favorite part, everything MATCHES and COORDINATES!  It just makes life easier.  I am now a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator and most of my projects are made with Stampin’ Up! card stock, ink, stamps, die-cuts, paper punches and embellishments.

I hope you enjoyed this quick flashback to 2012.  Please leave a comment!
